Lag: a zoomsical comedy (Haddon Kime, 2020)

mediatized theatre,transpandemic stage

Musical comedy performed by several actors through Zoom during the confinement due to the covid-19 pandemic, which deals with everyday elements such as taking the dogs out or the lack of toilet paper.

A musical piece of a comic nature, it seeks a way to continue making musicals during the pandemic confinement, as well as to inspire other creators to also create their “zoomsical” works. The name LAG alludes to the latency, the delay that can occur in telecommunications, making it difficult for them to be produced in real time, something necessary in this type of work, in a metaphor “our lives are also laggy now”. The text of the ten songs gently satirises those elements that became commonplace during confinement, such as communication and family interference, and attempts to give encouragement and hope.

Released in 2020.
