Titiriscopio (Arawake, 2021)

amplified,mediatized theatre

Eight spectators attend from different perspectives to a piece performed inside a device that emulates a miniature theatre, in which puppets, miniatures and holograms come together.

The device is based on the Lambe Lambe theatre, a miniature theatre for a person of Brazilian origin and inspired by travelling photographers. The puppeteer’s telescope houses a miniature theatre for eight spectators who watch the performance, observing it through holes on the outside and with headphones. There are three possible types of performances, depending on whether the audience is family, young people or adults, although the device lends itself to creation with groups in student or museum environments. The manipulator is inside the box and manipulates puppets, models and holograms, which introduce fantastic and climatic elements.

Presented for the first time from 25 to 27 August 2021 in Ciudad Rodrigo, at the 24th Castilla y León Theatre Fair.
