In Love And Warcraft (A.C.T., 2020)

distributed space,mediatized theatre,telepresence,theatricality,transpandemic stage

A play performed through Zoom about video game addiction.

Two actors perform the play about video game addiction through Zoom, where the screen itself functions as the webcam in practice. Evie is a student who plays video games, but a boy starts demanding her attention, forcing her to choose between her passion and spending time with him. The two screens create the space to give a sense of continuity, even though the actors are actually separated due to the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. This play is produced by the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, which produced four other plays during the lockdown period following a similar framework through Zoom.

Premiered on September 4, 2020, on the internet.
